Barrie Chamber Of Commerce Lays It Out For The Province

Local Chamber Outlines Priorities Ahead of Ontario Budget

The Barrie Chamber of Commerce is calling on the province to “get back to fiscal balance”. The Barrie Chamber today paired up with the Ontario Chamber of Commerce to release a pre-budget submission, calling on the province to make eliminating the deficit and reducing debt a priority in the 2016 budget, and to work closely with the business community to develop a proposed carbon emission cap and trade system. Barrie Chamber CEO Rod Jackson says the provincial debt is roughly $300 billion, adding it’s important that the provincial government work with “local business communities to ensure a strong economic future”.
