Oro Medonte says the restoration of a historic church is well underway. Members of the Archaeological Research Associates are on the scene of the Oro African Church, conducting an archaeological assessment of the area, looking for artifacts and physical evidence. This is to make sure renovation work doesn’t disturb unmarked graves. Following $261,000 in private and government donations, the church is expected to be restored and preserved for its historical significance. They expect a grand opening event in the Spring or Summer of next year.
