UPDATE: Amber Alert Cancelled, Father Taken To Hospital

UPDATE – An Amber Alert has been cancelled and a father is in hospital. The alert was issued over a four-year-old girl allegedly taken from her Aurora home around 4:00 this morning, by her father. York Regional Police say the child was recovered after her father’s vehicle rolled during a collision in Pembroke. The young girl was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries, while the 46-year-old father was arrested, and taken to hospital for treatment of minor injuries.


York Regional Police are dealing this morning with an apparent parental abduction – a four year old in the company of her father. Julia Della-Cruz, was taken by her father, Mario Rodrigues. Julia is 5 years old and is described as three-foot five-inches, thin build, and weighs sixty pounds. She was last seen wearing a green shirt and grey track pants. Mario is 46 years old and is described as five-foot five-inches, weighs 160 pounds, with short dark hair, brown eyes and is clean shaven. They were last seen around 4 o’clock this morning driving south through Aurora in a grey or silver Toyota Sienna mini-van, licence BEZY 781. If you see them call 911.
