A Biopic About The Sex Pistols Is On It’s Way

The Film Will Also Follow The Pistols Manager Malcolm McLaren

Punk is soon to be hitting the big screen, as a biopic revolving around the anarchic career of the Sex Pistols is in the works.

Allegedly, Starlight Films is in the early stages of working on a biopic about the 70s punk icons. “We were impressed by the box office takings for Bohemian Rhapsody,” filmmaker Ayesha Plunkett explained to the Daily Star. “It only goes to show the public has an appetite for these films.

The movie hasn’t started shooting, but according to the production firm, they’re set to start casting soon and already have a wishlist for who they’d like to play the role of the Pistols’ manager Malcolm McLaren and fashion designer Vivienne Westwood. The duo ran a clothing store in the 70s in Chelsea, which was called SEX, and it became quite influential on the punk fashion scene in England.

The film will revolve around McLaren and Westwood, but it will also look into the rise and fall of the legendary punk band starting in 1975 and ending in 1978.
