Mr. Hockey – Gordie Howe – has died at age 88
Howe played hockey through four decades between the NHL and WHA. He won four Stanley Cups, six Hart Trophies, six Art Ross Trophies and played in 23 NHL All Star Games. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1972.

Jobless Rate at Lowest In a Year
Canada’s jobless rate fell to 6.9% in May – it’s lowest mark since last July – 16,800 jobs were crated. The jobless rate in Barrie fell slightly to 7.8%.

Quite a collection they have at Boston Children’s Hospital
On display at the entrance to the hospital’s Ear, Nose and Throat Clinic are the weird items that have been removd from kids ears, nostrils and throats over the years. Latex balloons and magnets, a cellphone button that was stuck in a teenager’s ear, a gum wrapper removed from a child’s nostril (it had been there for a couple of weeks!). There’s a chicken claw and a crucifix Christmas ornaments and a rosary bead, that luckily had lodged vertically in the child’s throat so he was still able to breath through its threading hole until doctors could remove it.
