Police And Transit Officers Shot, 5 Dead in Dallas

Obama condemns attacks as 'vicious, callous and despicable'

Five police and transit officers are dead, seven more wounded along with two civilians, attacked by snipers last night during demonstrations in Dallas against this week’s police shootings in Louisiana and Minnesota. Three suspects are in custody; a fourth killed by an explosive that was detonated by a police bomb robot following a standoff. That suspect told police “the end is coming…and there are bombs all over the place,” according to Dallas police chief David Brown. He also said that he planned to hurt more officers. Witnesses say the gunmen shot without any fear.
