Year-Round Weekend GO Train Service out of Barrie

Three Trains in the Morning, Three In The Evening, Starting New Year's Eve

Barrie residents will be able to get on the GO every weekend, thanks to an announcement from the province this morning.

That is Ontario Transportation Minister Steven Del Duca, who was at the Barrie South GO Station Monday morning, along with Barrie Mayor Jeff Lehman, and Ann Hoggarth, MPP for Barrie. The CEO for Metrolinx, Bruce McCuaig, was also there, who shed some light on what times these trains will leave Barrie for Toronto, and from Toronto back to Barrie.

Mayor Lehman says it’s easy to see there’s a demand for enhanced service out of Barrie.

Del Duca said adding these weekend trains is the first step in bringing two way, all day weekday GO Transit service to Barrie.
