Wear Your Plaid for Dad Tomorrow!

It's not too late!

Plaid for Dad is Friday, June 16th. That’s tomorrow!

One in 8 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their life – your support for the Plaid for Dad fundraiser will raise awareness and funds for prostate cancer.

How do you support #PlaidforDad? I’m glad you asked. Here are a few quick fundraising ideas for your workplace.

BBQ Lunch (for Dad)

Everyone likes food. If your workplace has a barbecue, you can have a cookout to raise funds. Those who decide to wear plaid, get dessert as well with their lunch!

Blended Drinks (for Dad)

If you don’t have a barbecue, you surely have a blender! Bring the blender and serve up some blended drinks to your colleagues (virgin, of course). Those who don’t wear plaid have to donate extra!

Best Plaid Contest (for Dad)

Don Cherry is famous for his plaid suits. Maybe you can become office-famous for the best plaid outfit.

Dad Contest (for Dad)

Everyone has Dad jokes or Dad dances, even the non-Dads. Make a contest out of the art of the Dad. You can even give out a trophy. Here are some suggestions for the name of the contest:

  • The Homer Simpson Dad Joke Invitational
  • The Red Forman Dad Joke Trial
  • The Peter Griffin Dad Joke Hullabaloo
  • The Danny Tanner Dad Dance Extravaganza

If you can’t organize an event, you can help in others ways. You can either make a donation to Plaid for Dad or you can take a photo with your best plaid for social media and use the hashtag #PlaidforDad to raise awareness for the event. Over a thousand workplaces are expected to participate across Canada – let us know if you’re participating!

You can register for your team for Plaid for Dad here!

Happy Dad’ing!
