Tom Petty’s 40th Anniversary Tour

May be last big tour

It’s been 40 years since Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers dropped their debut self-titled album and the band is celebrating the milestone with a 2017 40th Anniversary Tour which will stop down in Toronto on Saturday July 15th at the Air Canada Centre.

The band has been meeting for rehearsals to shake some of the rust off as it’s been three years since their last big road trip (their longest break from touring in 25 years).  They are planning on continuing along with the vibe they had at the theatre shows, but also give the long time fans some really deep stuff.

Tom Petty told Rolling Stone Magazine recently that this may be the last big tour.  He says they will most likely continue to play and perform after the 40th Anniversary Tour but that this will most likely be the last 50 city tour the band will do, so if you are a fan you’ll want to make it a point to take in the Toronto show this summer, as it may be your last chance to see Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers within driving distance.

Tom says he’s really excited, and it should be a lot of fun!
