Summer Games Begin Today

Opening ceremonies tonight

They’re here, perhaps the most controversial summer games ever. Opening cermonies are tonight in Rio. The games begin in earnest tomorrow. More than 300 Canadian athletes are taking part. Gymnast Rosie McLennan, of King City, will lead them into the games as flag-bearer. She won gold at the 2012 games. And, there’s a team of refugees taking part this year – the first Refugee Olympic Team. Their determination is not just to medal, but to show the world, “We are human too.”
