South Simcoe K9 Officer’s Loss Mourned By Service

The South Simcoe Police Service is mourning the loss of a four-legged crime fighter. K9 Officer Garan passed away Tuesday, at age 12. Garan was a member of the South Simcoe Police Service for seven years, with his last patrol in July 2013. After retirement, he went to live with his old partner Joe Ferreri and his family. Ferreri paid tribute to his partner, “Today I said goodbye to the most loyal partner and friend. You were one of a kind buddy and served South Simcoe Police and the community in the most admirable way. I was lucky enough to have you as a partner for those years but most of all lucky to have you as part of our family. Love you pal and will see you again one day. RIP PSD Garan, Nov 2005-Jun 2018”
