“Scary Lucy” has Been Replaced

The town commissioned a new artist, despite the original sculptor offering to fix it for free

Remember this not-so-flattering statue that was erected of Lucille Ball in her hometown of Celeron, New York?

So many people complained about it that the town had another statue commissioned. It was unveiled on Saturday, which would have been Lucille Ball’s 105th birthday.

It was made by sculptor Carolyn Palmer.

So, what are they doing with “Scary Lucy”? Nothing. She will still be haunting a far corner of Lucille Ball Memorial Park because she’s drawn thousands of people to the town over the past year.
