Lazy People are Most Likely to Survive

Our time is now!

There is now proof that spending countless hours bingeing Netflix and working on the perfect butt grove on your couch may actually be a survival tactic.

A new study found that laziness and basically maintaining a lower metabolism may actually be a real survival tactic in the evolutionary process.

The study was done by the University of Kansas and explored mollusks. Their findings showed that mullosk species have been around for millions of years. The main reason: metabolic rate.

Mullosks that worked harder to survive were more susceptible to an earlier death than those species that just chilled. Lazy ones used less energy and food and were primed for survival when famine came.

The co-author of the study told USA Today, “Instead of ‘survival of the fittest,’ maybe a better metaphor for the history of life is ‘survival of the laziest’ or at least ‘survival of the sluggish.’”
