Innisfil’s New Water Restrictions To Be Enforced Year Round

Even Houses on Even Days, Odd Houses on Odd Days

They want to make sure there’s enough water to go around, so Innisfil is putting new watering restrictions in place. The new lawn watering plan will be enforced year round, and will see even numbered houses watering the lawn on even numbered days, while odd numbered houses will do so on odd days. For example, if you live at an address like 13, 1271, or 899, you’d water your lawn on July 29th, while your neighbour across the street at 14, 1272, or 898, will have to wait until the next day. The town has a few exceptions to the rule however. Watering is permitted outside of the dates and times specified only in the following circumstances:

  • You may water gardens, shrubs and trees using a hand-held container during the hours of 6 a.m. and 9 a.m and 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. on any day of the week.
  • You may water newly planted trees, shrubs and flowers, while they are being installed and again 24 hours after installation.
  • You may water new sod as required for a period of 30 days after the sod has been laid during the hours of 6 a.m. and 9 a.m and 7 p.m. and 10 p.m.
  • You may refill a backyard residential pool for maintaining the integrity of its filtering system during the hours of 6 a.m. and 9 a.m and 7 p.m. and 10 p.m.
