Hockey Help the Homeless

Fantasy Tournament supports David Busby Centre

Some hockey legends will be lacing it up at the Holly Community Centre throughout the day today in support of the David Busby St. Centre and Redwood Park Communities.

The whole idea of the tournament is to give local players a once in a lifetime fantasy hockey experience –  treated like a VIP all day and to play hockey alongside some former top NHL Pro hockey players and Olympic Athletes while at the same time raising money and awareness for homeless people across the country.  The goal is to raise $100,000 at this year’s tournament.

Some of the stars participating in the Barrie tournament today include Darryl Shannon, Scott Thornton, Mike Gartner, Wes Jarvis, Mike Krushelnyski, Adam Graves, Brad May, B.J. Crombeen,  Karl Stewart, Bob McGill and many others.

Games roll all through the day today at Holly Community Centre.  Each team has three guaranteed games, plus the possibility of playoffs.  Fans can come out to watch, donate to the cause, sponsor a player and enjoy some great hockey action helping support the homeless in our regional area.
