Gord Downie is Releasing a new Album and Graphic Novel

The album and graphic novel are set for release next month

Gord Downie and the Tragically Hip gave Canada a wonderful goodbye gift with their final tour, but Gord has one more present for us up his sleeve.

He’s preparing to release a new album accompanied with a graphic novel. It’s called “Secret Path” and it’s about the story of a 12-year-old First Nations boy in Ontario who passed away in 1966 after running away from the Cecilia Jeffrey Indian Residential School near Kenora, Ontario.

Proceeds from the album and graphic novel will go to the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation at the University of Winnipeg.

“Secret Path” started as 10 poems that evolved into 10 songs and were recorded in 2013. The album and graphic novel will be released on October 18th, 2016.
