Former Armoury Could Be On The Move In Barrie

But just temporarily

The former Armoury building on Mulcaster Street in Barrie may be on the move, to aid in the development of a 20-storey a condominium development. Councillor Rose Romita says it would be a temporary move while the condo is being built, essentially to protect the heritage building from damage. The plan is to put it back in almost the same location, but facing Collier Street instead of Mulcaster. Romita says the building would be reinforced. City staff have been directed to see if moving the building can be done safely. The building currently houses the Grey and Simcoe Forresters Regimental Museum.
