Early Morning Fire In Bradford

Started in garage

Bradford Firefighters made quick work of a garage fire this morning on Taylor Court that spread into the home. The call came just before 3 am; crews had the flames under control by 5 am. The cause will be listed as undetermined due to the amount of damage to the garage. There was damage to some floor joists on the main floor of the home, but the roof remains intact. Damage is estimated at between $150,000 and $200,000. It is not considered to be suspicious in nature. Working smoke alarms allowed the family to escape safely. Fire Chief Kevin Gallant says one of his firefighters was hurt after slipping in the adverse conditions. Important to note, he says, that someone had cleared the snow from around the fire hydrant across the street.
