Dave Grohl Judged A BBQ Contest In Memphis
Things Rock Stars Do When They're Not On Tour
Every year, the Memphis In May Festival is the backdrop for the World Championship BBQ Cooking Contest. Considered America’s most prestigious BBQ competition, it attracts more than 230 teams from more than 25 states and other countries. This year, it attracted one very special (albeit unexpected) guest judge – the Foo Fighters Dave Grohl.

According to Memphis In May organizers, Grohl reached out to them. Apparently, he just loves BBQ and wanted to be a part of it. The Foo’s frontman spent the weekend eating, drinking and mingling with BBQ’ers. He even played a small, private concert in one of the tents at the festival.
DAVE GROHL FROM FOO FIGHTERS/NIRVANA PARTIED IN MY DADS TENT @ BBQ FEST ALL WEEKEND AND GAVE A PRIVATE CONCERT LAST NIGHT….I have to live with this and it’s hard.
