Credit Card Scam Making The Rounds

They Claim Your Card Was Compromised... And It Could Be Soon If You Give Them Personal Info

A fresh warning from the OPP about a credit card scam they’ve gotten complaints about lately. You may get a call from someone claiming to be from the security division of your credit card company, calling to notify your card has been compromised. They’ll ask a litany of personal questions like the name of your bank, date of birth, SIN number, and the like. Don’t answer them. Instead, ask for a call back number and the name of the caller. Contact your credit card company or bank instead, through the phone number provided on your monthly statement.
