The Liberal Government fulfilled a promised today, by enacting an inquiry into missing and murdered indigenous women and girls across Canada. Details out of Ottawa today about the independent inquiry that will look into root causes including past and present systemic barriers, in the hopes of ending the violence and crime against Canada’s indigenous women and girls. The commission will then provide advice and direction to federal, provincial, and territorial policymakers. The process is expected to cost nearly 54 million dollars, around 13 mil higher than originally anticipated.
