Bob Dylan Will Provide Nobel Prize Speech But Still Won’t Appear

Patti Smith to cover "A Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall" in Dylans Place

He still won’t be there in person, but the Nobel Foundation says Bob Dylan has written a speech that will be read out at the Nobel Prize banquet in Stockholm on December 10th.

Dylan is the recipient of this year’s Nobel Prize in literature. He declined the invitation to attend, citing “other commitments” that make it completely impossible for him to be there.

In Dylan’s stead, Patti Smith will perform A Hard Rain’s A-Gonna Fall as a tribute to the 75-year-old.
