Barrie Man Arrested During R.I.D.E.

Arrested for Breach of Conditions

This morning, South Simcoe Police were busy in Bradford conducting R.I.D.E. checks.

They checked almost 400 vehicles and tested 24 drivers who had been drinking.

Police say a 25 year old Barrie man attempted to evade the R.I.D.E. program on Dissette Street in Bradford. Officers say they followed the man and stopped him.

The man was found to be on conditions with the Durham Regional Police for charges relating to thefts and property crimes.

Police say one of the Court ordered conditions on the man, was that he remain in his residence during night time hours. The man was arrested for Breach of Conditions.

Police are reminding people not to drink and drive, and to take a taxi home or stay at a friend’s house if you have been drinking.

Festive R.I.D.E. programs will continue through the holiday season until January.
