Arkells Announce Fifth Studio Album ‘Rally Cry’

Fifth Studio Album Coming This Fall

Hold on to your hats Arkellians — Hamilton’s finest band Arkells just announced their fifth studio album is coming, titled Rally Cry.

“On Rally Cry, there’s an urgency to recording these songs and hearing them back. It’s our sharpest and most concentrated effort yet,” described frontman Max Kerman in a press release. “Rally Cry is the idea of a communal heart, a connected spirit. Whether it’s political songs or love songs, they share the same starting place.”

This summer, Arkells held a massive concert in their hometown of Hamilton called The Rally. The group have been using their anthemic songs as the driving force of good, aiming to bring people together in the community. Leading up to The Rally, Arkells gave out a number of “People’s Champ” awards along with donations, to local heroes in the community who were doing charitable work.
The band’s most recent single, “People’s Champ” echoed that sentiment, one we will likely hear again on the forthcoming record.

Guitar player Mike DeAngelis designed the gritty album cover, seen below. “We made Rally Cry in the midst of touring our last record, with our live show fresh in our minds each time we entered the studio,” said DeAngelis. “I wanted the art to reflect that same vibrant energy that made its way into the recordings as a result.”

Rally cry is due out October 19th.
