Payroll Survey Finds Many Canadians Barely Able To Pay Bills

No money for left for saving, emergencies

A Canadian Payroll Association survey has found half of working Canadians are living paycheque-to-paycheque. Many admit they would be hard-pressed to meet their financial obligations if their paycheque was delayed for a week. Half of those polled said they are able to save five per cent or less from their earnings, with 39 per cent saying they’re “overwhelmed” by their debt. As for an emergency, a quarter of those asked said they would be unable come up with the cash to cover it.
