Reagan Attacker To Be Released

John Hinckley Jr. Said To No Longer Suffer From Mental Illness That Drove Assassination Attempt

The man who attempted to assassinate President Reagan is gearing up for release. A Washington judge has ruled John Hinckley Jr., now 61-years-old, can leave the mental facility he’s been staying in since being found Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity in the shooting on March 30th, 1981. Doctors say he no longer suffers from the mental illness that drove him to make the assassination attempt to impress actress Jodie Foster. Reagan passed away in 2004 at age 93.
